The Houston SEF Chapter is almost a decade old, but has been actively organizing fundraisers for the last four years. The current Houston SEF team includes dedicated volunteers who are experienced in non-profit management and have organized various regional and national events in Houston. The signature event of the Houston SEF chapter is the Annual Donor Appreciation Dinner in November/December. The last three annual dinners were highly successful in raising funds from the new and existing donors to support the noble cause of SEF. These annual events showcase SEF’s efforts in eradicating curable blindness with its multitude of services provided in rural India. The annual events also help in team building and provide leadership opportunities for the volunteers. The chapter’s future plans include scaling the size of the team, to help organize more events such as an annual Holi event, Bollywood shows, and other outreach efforts.
